Filipe Dom Masquil

Filipe Dom Masquil, M.D., Ph.D., is a board-certified internal medicine physician. Masquil came into this world in the hamlet of Buzi in the southeast division of Sofala. a  Province in Mozambique, Africa. He  earnedhis bachelor’s degree at Columbia University in New York City after receiving a scholarship from the United States Department of Education. After working for a while at the Sloan Kettering Institute for Cancer Research in New York City, he received a German scholarship from the Otto Benecke Stiftung to attend his medical school at Albert-Ludwigs University in Freiburg, Germany, where he graduated with Magna Cum Laude in 1983. After completing a year-long residency at Germany’s Freiburg Diakonoshes Krankenhaus, he returned to the United States to finish his internal medicine residency at New Jersey’s Perth Amboy General Hospital. He then spent several years as head of the emergency room at Arkansas’s McGehee Hospital, where he also started and operated an internal medicine clinic for thirteen years; he was a member of the medical executive committee at Duplin General Hospital (now known as Vidant) in Kenansville, North Carolina. Lastly, he was one of the primary physicians for veterans at the United States Department of Veterans Affairs in Fayetteville, North Carolina. His languages include Portuguese, French, Spanish, English, German, and his native African tongue, Chindau. He enjoys watching the tv show Jeopardy and treding live in the stock market.
